After such heavyweight message films as The Shawshank Redemption and Dead Man Walking, Tim Robbins takes a comic breather in this glossy but empty-headed buddy movie. He plays a stressed-out executive, who thinks his wife (Kelly Preston) is having an affair with his boss (Michael McKean). Seeking revenge, he finds an unlikely ally in petty thief Martin Lawrence - after he makes the mistake of trying to carjack Robbins. The two stars do their best with the comic crumbs they are handed, but both they and writer/director Steve Oedekerk are hampered by the fact that this is an action comedy where nothing really happens.
