TARTALOM ISMERTETő
Halle Berry stars in this handsome but shallow drama about a black woman's search for romantic happiness in 1920s Florida. Zora Neale Hurston's original novel was a lyrical evocation of the period, but this adaptation is better treated as a straightforward romantic drama. It's executive-produced by Oprah Winfrey, which should give some indication of its flavour. This is Berry's second outing under Winfrey; the first, 1998's The Wedding, was made before she found fame in Monster's Ball, but the pair has yet to combine for a memorable movie.
