In this classy psychological thriller, Nigel Hawthorne leads an impressive cast as a respected psychiatrist who uses hypnosis to question a disturbed Mary-Louise Parker, the prime suspect in the murder of her husband. As the mind games are played out, the lines between victim, suspect and investigator become blurred. It's a claustrophobic, sometimes erratic affair, but the fine cast - there are striking supporting turns from Jimmy Smits and Jason Scott Lee - more than compensates. Rather surprisingly, it went straight to video over here.
