SYNOPSIS
A host of faces from the alternative end of the sitcom spectrum stars in this "mockumentary" from writer/director Debbie Isitt. Martin Freeman (The Office) and Jessica Stevenson (Spaced) play the musical stars who are one of three couples battling it out to stage a wedding magazine's most original nuptials. Fellow contestant Robert Webb (Peep Show) is an ardent naturist who proposes a nude wedding, and as such is reduced to flashing the family jewels for easy laughs - amusing the first time, but Isitt takes an inch and tries to stretch it a mile, as it were. Stephen Mangan (Green Wing) finds a good slant as a washed-up tennis player bent on victory, but even this storyline flounders as the big day dawns and the action takes off into bizarre realms. Essentially a series of improvised scenarios, this does provide a few funny moments, but too often feels meandering and obvious. Ultimately, Confetti is all over the place.
