SYNOPSIS
Named in tribute to John Boorman's cult thriller Point Blank, this inventive black comedy drama stars John Cusack as hitman Martin Blank, who returns to his home town of Grosse Pointe for a high-school reunion and another assassination. He bumps into the old flame (Minnie Driver) he jilted on prom night ten years before and discovers that conventional free-marketeers are just as ruthless as he is. Director George Armitage keeps the action smart and edgy, and there are some fine performances from a supporting cast that includes Dan Aykroyd (as a pushy fellow hitman), Alan Arkin (as Blank's reluctant shrink) and Joan Cusack.
