SYNOPSIS
After headlining in 14 consecutive films, this was Norman Wisdom's last starring role before his impressive supporting performance in American comedy The Night They Raided Minsky's in 1968. He is woefully out of form in this feeble comedy that he co-adapted from a novel by journalist Angus McGill. There is nothing new in his performance as a bungling reporter on a local rag, but what makes matters worse is that he also crops up in a couple of unfunny cameos, one in drag and another in old-age make-up. The attempt to spice up his act with some Swinging Sixties sauce is also a nonstarter. Even die-hard fans will look away with embarrassment.
