Volker is a parcel deliverer, the single father of his 16-year-old son Benny and also a football coach for a youth team. He is clearly one of the socially underprivileged, but never spoils his good mood. The long working days, the miserable pay and the puberty of his son are increasingly pushing Volker to personal limits. Benny sets other priorities, his school leaving certificate is in jeopardy, Volker threatens to lose his driver's license and the money is often not enough for social participation, sometimes hardly for the bare minimum. When Benny considered moving back to his alcoholic mother, Volker gave up something that those around him, but above all himself, could always rely on - his integrity. He takes advantage of the opportunity to get money quickly with an illegal second job. But the supposed solution to his acute problems only pulls Volker deeper into the vortex - he is faced with the shards of his existence. With the help of his good friend Lena, Volker realizes how he can find support in life again. He has to go back on his own path, which he lost sight of in the turbulence of the last few months.
