SINOPSIS
In 1991, judge Clarence Thomas' (Wendell Pierce) nomination to the United States' Supreme Court is called into question when former colleague, Anita Hill (Kerry Washington), testifies that he had sexually harassed her.
The HBO original movie Confirmation details the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas – Anita Hill Supreme Court nomination hearings, which brought the US to a standstill and forever changed the way people thought about sexual harassment, victims' rights and modern-day race relations. Kerry Washington stars as Anita Hill, who accused Clarence Thomas (Wendell Pierce) of sexual harassment during his Senate hearings to become a Supreme Court judge. The allegations threw Thomas' reputation into question, but also Hill's, as the public questioned her credibility. The cast is rounded by Greg Kinnear (as Joe Biden), Dylan Baker (Senator Orrin Hatch), Grace Gummer (Ricki Seidman), and Alison Wright (Clarence Thomas' wife). Academy Award-nominated writer Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) penned the script.
