SINOPSIS

Roger Corman always had a great eye for angles, and this entertaining slice of escapism from his production company is great B-movie fodder. Essentially, it's The Magnificent Seven in space - Corman even manages to rope in one of the original cast, Robert Vaughn, to take his place alongside the likes of John Saxon (as the baddie), George Peppard and Richard Thomas from The Waltons. The special effects aren't bad, given the constraints of the budget, and Jimmy T Murakami directs the proceedings efficiently enough. The knowing script is by John Sayles, now better known as the writer/director of such critically acclaimed films as Passion Fish and Lone Star.
