Hammer's sequel to One Million Years BC doesn't star Raquel Welch or Ray Harryhausen's marvellous special effects, but it's still pretty solid entertainment. Playboy playmate Victoria Vetri wears the fur bikini this time and American stop-motion animation expert Jim Danforth supplies the prehistoric monster battles. With no more than 27 words of dialogue between them, rival tribe members Vetri and Robin Hawdon fall in love, escape death and cope with the harsh elements (thanks to the formation of the Moon). They also make love in caves and ward off baby dinosaurs, pterodactyls and giant crabs. The sort of dotty, endearing and exotic fun that only Hammer in its heyday could possibly make.
