Синопсис

In this entertaining comedy mystery, Bob Hope plays a man who, mistaken for a Philip Marlowe-type private eye, decides to live out the role in order to help mysterious Dorothy Lamour, who's in a spot of bother involving gangsters. Only moderately successful as a spoof of the Raymond Chandler school, it's still amusing enough, with Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney Jr providing good fun in supporting roles, and Bob's crony Bing Crosby putting in a cameo as the executioner at San Quentin prison. It was Hope's first starring role for his own production company, Hope Enterprises.
