The Winds of Passion

Set around 1905, The Winds of Passion follows the story of Marie, a school teacher who longs for Catholics and Republicans to live in peace. Although she opposes the imposition of religion in schools, she also battles for freedom of beliefs. Most of all, she fights against the division in her family because of these issues. As soon as Marie is appointed as the headmaster in the school, she immediately resists the traditionalism of her grandfather and priest Courtois. She also aims at taking her brother away from religious extremism. During a fight, Marie runs into Julien, her first love, who becomes a brilliant Republican activist who turns to be as extremist as her brother.
